Rolling bearing shutdown check

Regular inspection of the bearing seal is important to maintain the bearing in the best condition. The most favorable inspection time is scheduled during the periodic shutdown inspection period.
    The importance of clean bearings:
It is important to keep the bearings and lubrication clean.
Clean the surface of the machine before inspection and then remove the parts around the bearing. The oil seal is a very fragile part, so be careful to disassemble it. Do not apply excessive force. Then carefully check the oil seal and its surrounding parts. If it has been shown to be bad, be sure to replace it. A bad oil seal will cause the bearing. Damage and resulting equipment downtime.
    Check lubricant
Apply a point of lubricant to the friction between the two fingers. If any contaminants are present, feel it, or apply a thin layer of lubricant on the back of the hand, then seal the light.
    Replacement of lubricant
Oil-lubricated bearings, after draining old oil, if possible, refill with fresh oil and allow the machine to spin at low speed for a few minutes. Whenever possible, the oil collects the contaminants from the wreckage and then vents the oil. The oil is preferably filtered before use.
Grease-lubricated bearings should avoid any contact with the cotton material when replacing the grease, as these residual fibers may wedge between the rolling elements and cause damage, especially for small bearings. Pay attention to this issue.
    Covering exposed bearings
When inspecting bearings, never expose the bearings to contaminants or moisture. If the work is interrupted, cover the machine with a piece of oil-paper plastic or similar material.
If the unshielded bearing is cleaned without performing disassembly and may be inspected, it should be cleaned with a white spirit with a brush for application, then dried with a lint-free cloth or blown dry with compressed air. (Be careful not to let the bearing assembly start to rotate).
Check the track faces, retainers and beads of the bearing with a small mirror and a probe similar to that used by dentists. If the bearing is not damaged, relubrication should be performed as recommended by the machine's original lubrication instructions.
Do not clean the bearing with a sealing cover or dustproof; just wipe the outer surface.
If the bearing is damaged, it needs to be replaced. Replacing bearings during regular downtime maintenance is far more economical than the loss of sudden downtime due to bearing damage.
